Daçxuri
28 year old author lives in Rize, Ardesen, he worked 3 years with group of 4 people to publish this novel this novel. It is the first book published in Lazuri language in Turkey with title of "Dacxuri". Dacxuri was published in early June by Lazika publication. Dacxuri which means "Fire" in Lazuri is 156 pages book, with its simple manner of telling the book can be understood by people who lives in different region and has different accents of Lazuri Language.
The story is about a child named Mustafa whose parents died in a car crash, the story takes place in Timisvati which is also author's own village as well.
GOAL IS ASSOCIATION of LAZURI LANGUAGE
Ercan wanted shoe that the grammatical structure and the wealth of the vocabulary makes Lazuri appropriate language to write novel. Ercan stated that “it was unfair for lazuri to remain as a just spoken language. For this reason this project was very important to us, we aimed to establish Lazuri Language and Culture Research Center, with the help of the research center we will be able to work on dictionary, language archiving, novels and short stories and by working on it we will be able to reveal lost melodies and epics of Laz people.
We believe that if these efforts are supported by state, people will look at us with a different point of view.
Author has 2 other books with the title of Lazika and Oropa which are written in Turkish language. Ercan Murat states that writing a book or creating a project in an ethnic language is difficult and causes hassle, some people think that we are only a few man who wants to implicate the country, however we only want prevent the loss of Lazuri language and culture, we felt the need of producing works in order to make this ancient language more useable and not to be wiped out.
